For almost 400 years the trait for many digits has been part of the Maine Coon
history.
Ø
And these cats have been part of the Maine Coon gene pool from the start.
Ø
Today we can (still) find them in many Maine Coon pedigrees.
Ø
The many digit Maine Coon is part of the Maine Coon heritage.... past and
present.
Ø
Although they've been recognized, registered, bred and sold as Maine Coons,
still they can't be shown as one.
Ø
It's time to accept them for the Maine Coons they are, by giving them the same
rights as their standard footed variation.
Ø Time to add this trait to the current Maine Coon Breed Standard and let them be shown in championship class.
Quilts N Queens is a supporter of Polydactyl for Championship Status. We are currently campaigning for championship in the New Traits class. We will be going in front of the T.I.C.A board to amend the current Maine Coon Breed Standard.
